katharina I am looking an information about the palace or castle in the town Rein bei Straubing, which is situated in Niederbayern, Germany. The Austro-Hungarian General of the First World War and a Hungarian political figure the Archduke Josef August von Habsburg had dyed hier in 1962 in the age of 90. It is some kind of a Renessance castle. I wonder, how it looks like and who was the owner from the beginning of the 20th centery until now.

BUT: There is another town called Rain in Bayern, which also has a castle. It is situated in Donau-Ries Kreis in Schwaben.

katharina Thank you very much. The castle is owned by Thurn und Taxis family. The general Archduke Josef moved with his family in 1945 from Hungary to USA, and than they stayed in Regensburg with the Thurn und Taxis family. He must have stayed in this castle as their guest.
ipfloi was forgotten to give this link, bildindex has also 3 pictures of the castle
